As the Junior Accountant will be a key member of our finance team, with a variety of responsibilities contributing to an international business in high growth mode with recent expansion into the US and Europe.

SOME OF WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Inputting of inventory costing into the operating software (ERP)
  • Processing of inventory adjustments
  • Preparing and reviewing month end inventory reports
  • Annual inventory participation
  • Preparing wire payments
  • Certain accounts payable functions such as entering invoiced into the accounting software
  • Other projects and responsibilities as they arise

SOME OF WHAT YOU NEED:

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting or business administration
  • Proven working experience in accounting/bookkeeping
  • Experience in clothing industry a plus (retail/wholesale)
  • Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office (emphasis on Excel)
  • Comfortable with technology (desire to learn Momentis and Great Plains)
  • Ability to work well with others in fast paced, dynamic environment

As the Accounts Payable Coordinator you will be a key member of our finance team and will focus predominantly on our growing Moose Knuckles business, FDJ Jeans and Levy Canada as well as helping out with a variety of responsibilities with the rest of the team and sister companies. Moose Knuckles is in a high growth mode with recent expansion into the US and Europe.

SOME OF WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Process company accounts payable ensuring that all invoices are entered accurately, in the correct G/L account and paid on a timely basis including credit cards.
  • Maintain a daily on-going file of payables invoices sorted by vendor. Match vendor’s invoices received daily to purchase orders & receipts
  • Verify invoices for accuracy i.e. quantities of items received match the amounts billed, vendor’s prices agree to purchase order, verify correct extensions of invoice values, ensure proper sales taxes have been charged, etc.
  • Track PO quantities to multiple receipts ensuring total receipts match purchase order quantities
  • Return incorrect invoices to vendors for corrections. Forward invoices not properly matched to pertinent company personnel for follow up & approval.
  • Answer vendors inquiries requesting payment
  • Monthly reconciliations of vendor’s statements received. Request any missing invoices from vendor
  • Communicate effectively with all department personnel
  • Reconciliation of GL accounts and vendor statements
  • Adhoc schedules and requests
  • Segregate Amex/Visa expenses by GL
  • Reconcile intercompany accounts
  • Support year end file preparation and audit

  • Experience in A/P
  • Intermediate to advanced Excel skills

  • Experience with Momentis and Great Plains is an asset
  • Distribution experience is an asset

As the Chief of Operations you will have a clear mandate to provide leadership to distribution and the production departments. Primary responsibilities will include leading Moose Knuckles growth by driving financial performance, organizational strategy; develop policies and processes within your departments.

SOME OF WHAT YOU'LL DO:

Management & Leadership
  • Plan, monitor and meet budgets determined with the President and VP Finance
  • Manage and ensure compliance with all budgetary goals, consistently looking for opportunities to improve sales and profits with the Executive Team
  • Quickly zero in on key business issues and develop solutions
  • Recruit, develop and supervise the Shipping Manager, the IT Department and Traffic
  • Establish performance metrics and goals for the positions you manage

  • Information Technology
    Ensure a smooth, well organized use of our ERP (Momentis), including:
    - Setting milestones and evaluating the progress of each user (Production, Designers, etc.) makes towards initial set-up as well as further development
    - Establishing new procedures, processes and policies that will help streamline the business with the help of the new system
    - Establish a reporting capability that will help the Executive Team identify problem areas and assess progress
    - Establishing guidelines and practices for integrating the new systems with future processes
    - Defining and maintaining the company-level control parameters in the system
    - Establishing the appropriate processes and policies that provide for efficient and effective flow of information.
    - Establish the appropriate reporting tools; develop reports to identify problem areas (exception reports); ensure system is being used appropriately and make recommendations for improvements.

    Logistics
  • Be responsible (together with the head of shipping) that all Distribution Centers (3rd party or internal) flow smoothly and meet the targets set by management
  • Be responsible and accountable for the overall in-season distribution strategy including planning and scheduling

  • Production
  • Co-ordinate with the import manager to develop clear actionable policies and processes within the department that will lead to better communication, flow and efficiencies
  • Develop policies and processes to co-ordinate the design, production and traffic departments so that a proper flow exists between all merchandising departments
  • Ensure the overall flow of merchandise from initial sale to customer delivery flows properly
  • Develop strategies to minimize production issues and deal with in season issues that arise
  • Develop production processes to ensure we are paying as little duty as possible

  • Business Development
  • Lead the set-up of new distribution centers including in Italy and around the world
  • Help build new processes and procedures that align the retail, wholesale and e-commerce business that allows the company to go omni-channel

  • SOME OF WHAT YOU NEED:

    • 5+ years as a senior person with an importer, manufacturer or an apparel retailer with management experience
    • Experience in a minimum of two functional areas in operations, production and IT
    • Bottom line results driven through practical operations, process improvement, leadership skills and sound people development skills
    • Pro-active, hardworking and committed
    • Ability to be a strategic thinker, balanced by willingness to get involved in the details or delegate when necessary
    • Comfort level with systems and tools, but not necessarily be a true “systems person”
    • Strong knowledge of Momentis (or other closely related ERPs), and the interest and ability to transfer this knowledge to others.

As a member of the Finance and administration team you will ensure accurate processing and recording of company’s payroll for offices in Italy, New York and Montreal, as well as retail stores across Canada.

  • Manage payroll for employees in Canada, USA and Europe including retail and warehouse.

We are looking for a dynamic and proactive person to join our General Services & Administration team as a temporary, 6 month contract with the possibility to become a permanent member of the tribe.

We are looking for someone with excellent organizational and communication skills who will be responsible for administrative support in the areas of Operations, HR, Administration and Facility management. You will provides administrative support to company operations, policies, and procedures, dealing with the following main tasks: .

SOME OF WHAT YOU'LL DO:

  • Support in organizing meetings and events; assist the Operations Manager and General Manager on finance, HR, administrative matters; provide analysis and reports to superiors on all relevant matters
  • Coordinate Logistics and Maintenance providers; support to IT helpdesk activities and general procurement activities
  • Prepare PO’s, keeping a regular update of the expense report for showroom & operations; track progress on payment,
  • Help for Time off and Absences issues related with Italian office
  • Post jobs, review resumes, contact candidates and headhunters, fix appointments and interviews, collect and provide documentation to HR for payroll purposes.
