In this data protection declaration MII informs you which information is processed in connection with the events in Berlin, Germany, on or about October 24 to 26, 2018 (the “Event").     The processing of your personal data is based on your consent in accordance with Article 6(1)(a) GDPR. Your data will be processed exclusively within the scope of the consent given and only for the purposes under I. 4 of this Privacy Statement to which you have agreed.

    If necessary, MII may process your personal data beyond the actual fulfillment of contractual or legal obligations to protect the legitimate interests of MII or third parties pursuant to Article 6(1)(f) GDPR.

  7. For what purposes is your data processed by MII?
  8. MII processes your personal data to carry out the Event, in particular to facilitate the admission of registered participants. Furthermore, MII processes your data in order to perform marketing activities. As such MII may photograph, record and use your name, image, likeness, performance, voice, biographical data and any other personal attribute, as photographed or otherwise captured by MII in the context of the Event, in connection with the exploitation of sound or audiovisual recordings created by MII of the Event, in whole or in part, for promotional purposes on MII’s websites and/or social media accounts.

  9. Which data will be processed when contacting MII?
  10. You can contact MII in different ways, in particular via e-mail. The data processing that takes place within the scope of contacting us can serve different purposes, depending in each case on the content of your message. If necessary, we store and process the data provided in order to process the matter for which you have contacted us. The processing of your data in the context of contacting us is carried out in accordance with Article 6 (1) (f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in processing your data in order to be able to offer you rapid contact and to ensure that your request is dealt with in a way that is in line with your interests.

  11. Disclosure of personal data to third parties
  12. We process your personal data only within MII. Your data will not be passed on by sale, rental or exchange. Insofar as we have data processed by external service providers for the fulfilment of the order (order data processing), these are strictly bound to the processing order issued by MII, to the provisions of the Federal Data Protection Act and to other statutory provisions on data protection as well as to this data protection declaration. MII reserves the right to transfer your personal data to third parties if this should be necessary in order to defend ourselves against attacks that constitute criminal offences or that are likely to prevent or impair the functionality of our Internet pages.

  13. Duration of storage of your data
  14. MII processes and stores your personal data for the duration of the agreed purpose. If the purpose of the data collection has been fulfilled, the data shall be deleted unless their temporary further processing is necessary. The necessity is given in particular in the following cases: The data shall be stored in accordance with the provisions of the German Commercial Code (HGB), the German Fiscal Code (Abgabenordnung), the German Money Laundering Act (Geldwäschegesetz) - storage for up to ten years - and the preservation of evidence within the scope of the statutory statute of limitations (the regular statute of limitations is three years, in exceptional cases up to 30 years) or the storage of application documents for up to six months.

    - You have a right of objection pursuant to Article 21 GDPR;
    - You have the right to revoke your consent at any time in accordance with Article 7 (3) GDPR, but you must bear in mind that such a revocation is only effective for the future and that the processing carried out to date remains lawful;
    - You have the right to complain to a supervisory authority pursuant to Article 77 GDPR.

    The aforementioned rights are subject to statutory exceptions. For example, your rights are restricted for research and statistical purposes (§ 27 (2) BDSG) or for archiving purposes in the public interest (§ 28 (2) and (3) BDSG). Further exceptions include § 34 and 35 BDSG and Article 17 (3) GDPR.
